Section 4.4 – Digital Payment Methods There is no technically correct definition for the all-encompassing genre of non-cash or card payment methods, but here we will use Digital Payment Methods (DPMs) as a catch- all term. In many countries, Digital Payment Methods (DPMs) are already very prevalent, while in others they are growing fast. There are several overlapping sub-genres of DPMs we will explore in this section, including Digital Wallets, Account to Account (A2A) payments, Instant Payment Systems (IPS) or Real Time Payments (RTP) and Open Banking.
