There was rapid ecommerce (also known as online) growth in all 15 countries between 2019 and 2022, driven by global changes to consumer habits during the covid-19 pandemic. The growth leveled out in 2022 in some countries (for example Japan and South Korea) but has continued in most countries. Overall, in terms of market share there is evidence of a meaningful volume shift from POS to Ecommerce in almost every covered country since 2019.
